Why does the Homeowner-Taxpayer Association have a political action committee ?
State law requires we have a PAC so we can receive political contributions and make political expenditures. For example, contributions are used to buy signs, print literature, and send mail-outs aimed at supporting or opposing measures.
Who does the PAC report to ?
Political contributions and expenditures are accounted for and reported to the Texas Ethics Commission in Austin. The report we file is called the General-Purpose Committee Campaign Finance Report.
Who can make contributions to HTA PAC ?
Any individual or business including corporations may make contributions to the PAC.
Is there a limit to the amount that can be contributed to HTA PAC ?
No.
Does HTA PAC support political parties or candidates for office ?
No. The PAC supports or opposes measures only.
