The Homeowner-Taxpayer Association of Bexar County, Inc. was formed in 1983 to keep homeowners and taxpayers informed about local government actions that may have an adverse impact.  We rely on member's dues to maintain our office, mail newsletters to our members, and conduct spring and fall general membership meetings.  Membership is open to all Bexar County taxpaying residents and dues are only $ 25 annually ($10 for Seniors and the Disabled).

      Our successes include :

Led fight against Crime Control District Sales Tax - 2005

Led fight that rolled back San Antonio property taxes for Seniors

Election victory over Amendment to overturn Term Limits - 2004

Election victory over Amendment to Increase Pay to City Council Members - 2004

These successes were possible only because of the efforts of our dedicated membership.

        The Future

Now we are preparing to face the issues of the next millennium by establishing our presence on the internet. Our ability to change the course of excessive taxation depends on an ever-growing membership who will work together toward responsible government.
